You will travel to a myriad of wonderful destinations, including National Parks full of superb game and we offer activities that will leave you spellbound such as Mountain Gorilla Trekking, a Balloon Ride over the Serengeti, Masai Mara or Amboseli. We can offer you a safari to those areas that are less crowded and untouched. We visit fascinating African tribes such as the Masai. Volcanoes, the great migration, rehabilitation centres Giraffe Manor/ Sheldrick centre, Mt Kilimanjaro, chimps (Ngamba Island), Lake Nakuru, Zanzibar Stone town spice islands. We will track the great migration in both the Masai Mara and the Serengeti.

DAY 1 Nairobi Today we arrive in Nairobi, Kenya’s Capital City, where we will transfer to our accommodation in Nairobi. Dinner for own account.

DAY 2-3 Lake Nakuru After breakfast we will drive to the town of Nakuru, where we enter Lake Nakuru National Park and spend the next 2 days here. Most famous for its role in “Out of Africa,” Lake Nakuru has a vast amount of flamingos, black rhino, and perhaps the best spot in Kenya to see the most elusive of the big cats, the leopard. We will game drive the early hours of the morning through Lake Nakuru National Park, famed for lions and buffalo amongst a myriad of other game and visit Makalia Falls, where buffalo often come to drink. We will spend the whole day in this fabulous park, game and bird watching at will. Look out for those baboons! (BLD)

DAY 4 Lake Naivasha We will drive through the park for a few hours before departing to Lake Naivasha, where we will spend time on the edge of the lake, often with hippos grazing in the area. In the afternoon we will enjoy a visit to Elsamere - the home of Joy & George Adamson of “Born Free” fame. Enjoy High Tea and view Black and White Colubus Monkeys Accommodation: Lake Nakura Lodge. DAY 5-6 Masai Mara We will drive via Narok to the Masai Mara National Reserve offering wonderful scenery and plenty of game. This is undoubtedly the finest wildlife area in Kenya. This is the best time to witness large numbers of Wildebeest and Zebra crossing the Mara river. It is perhaps the only region left in Kenya where the visitor may see animals in the same super-abundance as existed a century ago. Here we will use every opportunity to track the great migration as it crosses the Mara river back into Tanzania. Accommodation: Mara Serena Lodge (BLD)

DAY 7 Nairobi We will have a very early drive back to Nairobi. Today we visit the Giraffe Centre, where you can have an opportunity to hand feed and view animals up close and personal. Dinner at Carnivores Restaurant. Own account. Accommodation The Norfolk Hotel (B)

DAY 8-9 Amboseli We drive to Amboseli National Park in Kenya’s south west and spend 2 days game viewing under the imposing heights of Mt Kilimanjaro. Set in rolling savannah scenery it is dwarfed by the presence of the pink-tinged, snowcapped peak of Mt Kilimanjaro which, at 5,896 meters, is the highest freestanding mountain in the world and topped by one fifth of all the ice in Africa. Against this magnificent backdrop roam vast herds of elephants which will stroll within easy camera-shot and you can feel the thrill of being in the wild, wild Africa accompanied by a kaleidoscope of other fabulous beasts - lion, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, baboon, gazelle, hippo and wildebeest to name but a few. There are also over 400 species of birds, all manner of reptilian, flora and fauna and some of the most soul-searing views in Africa. Accommodation: Amboseli Serena Lodge (BLD)

DAY 10 Karatu Area We will cross the Tanzanian border and travel down towards the magnificent Ngorongoro crater, watching out for giraffe on either side of the highway. Masai warriors will be seen herding their animals and we will stay the night in Karatu, right on the edge of the cloudy forests of Ngorongoro Crater. Lunch en route at Arusha. DAY 11 Ngorongoro Crater Today we drive up on the edge of Ngorongoro Crater. Often referred to as the “Garden of Eden”, the Crater has one of the highest concentrations of animals in Africa. This is the largest non-flooded volcano crater in the world. Ngorongoro Lodge is perched on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater at 7,500 feet above sea level (with a 2,000 feet sheer drop down to the crater floor), with spectacular and unsurpassed views over the crater’s great bowl. The lounge features a fireplace and panoramic windows that give on to a terrace serving as an observation deck for the crater below.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Often described as the world’s eighth wonder, Ngorongoro offers the opportunity of viewing an amazing variety of wild animal life in a concentrated area with its unforgettable blue-tinted slopes, swampy grasslands, lakes, rivers, woodlands and hills. This veritable Garden of Eden is home to ostrich, wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, hartebeest, warthog, long eared foxes, jackal, hyena, lion, cheetah, and the very rare black rhino, in all, some 30,000 animals inhabit the crater. Day 12 -15 Serengeti Leaving the Crater early this morning we enter the world famous Serengeti National Park where we will spend the next 4 days tracking the migration. Along the way you can expect to see all kinds of game, perhaps even some of the migration, before we reach the Lodge at Seronera for the night. During the night lions and hyenas often frequent the grounds, as well as baboons and elephants. For those that wish to take to the air, the famous Serengeti Balloon ride, departs at dawn (optional). For those that wish to view game by vehicle, first thing in the morning we will be game driving around the magnificent park, with zebra, wildebeest and gazelles all very close.If we are very lucky a pride of lion or a solitary leopard will put in an appearance. There is plenty of game to be seen on the vast savannah lands. Today we move toward Lobo Wildlife Lodge, game driving en route. Lobo Wildlife Lodge is situated over the Serengeti Plains and has been constructed on a rocky outcrop with the swimming pool having been built on a rock deck. The viewing deck and pool overlook the wide open plains and a water hole - which encourages a variety of visitors during the day and night. At night the water hole is lit, attracting interesting nocturnal animals, leopard, lion, cheetah and hyena are often seen in close proximity. Wildebeest move through the northern woodlands in most years from June - December to feed on the longer grasses that persist in this area. Accommodation: Seronera and Lobo Wildlife Lodges. (BLD)

Day 16 -18 Zanzibar Today we depart the Serengeti for Arusha where we will catch our flight to take us to the spice islands of Zanzibar. We will transfer from the Zanzibar airport to our accommodation. There are many options in Zanzibar. A visit to Stone Town, with its tiny streets hide a myriad of goods, from spices, to carvings, to jewellery and it will entice you to shop until you drop. Perhaps you would like to sample the famous night markets, where a plateful of seafood, freshly cooked and washed down by a glass of sugar juice will round off your day. There are many activities to do on Zanzibar, from swimming with dolphins to walking with red Colobus monkeys, visiting the old slave markets or simply head for the paradise beach that awaits you. Watching dhows cruise past in the sunset as you drink a cocktail from a fresh coconut will make you realize you are truly in paradise. Accommodation Fumba Beach Lodge (Sea View Room) (B)
